Short biography

Dario Tomasetta works in Loiano (BO) and is actively engaged in the art environment since 1970.

After completing scientific and artistic studies, in 1981 he obtains a degree in architecture in Florence. From that moment on, a pragmatic coexistence among canvas, colours and inks triggers him to develop a kaleidoscopic vision of markings, stains and shapes that draws from the ancient masters but is at the same time provoked by a soul oriented to evolutive-change.

His work is displayed in collective and individual exhibitions. In 2016, his personal exhibition hosted in the Maria delle Donne room of the city hall of Loiano (BO) was themed “Freedom”.
The personal exhibition displayed from December 2017 to January 2018 at Centro Sociale del Baraccano in via Santo Stefano in Bologna is dedicated to the “Art’Occhi” collection. The last vernissage - named “Arca Gate” – still in its becoming, is foreseen in fall 2020.

He prefers oil painting as it is more suitable for chromatic malleability even if certain works, the most instinctive ones, are in acrylic. The supports variates from canvas to wood, based on the three-dimensional necessity of the subject.
